Jason Iley honoured with STRAT Award
Sony Music was recognised across multiple categories at last night’s Music Week Awards 2026, held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.
The highlight of the night was UK Chairman and CEO Jason Iley receiving the prestigious STRAT Award – Music Week’s top honour for outstanding achievement and lasting impact in the music industry. JADE presented the award, describing Jason as ‘a person who has devoted himself to championing artists for thirty years’. “He empowers me to take risks and push creative boundaries, and he truly puts the artistry first” JADE said.
Accepting the award, Jason said: “No success is singular, so I might be standing on the stage, but this award reflects the trust, generosity and belief of the artists I’ve worked with and the amazing global team at Sony Music.”
As the longest-serving head of Sony Music UK and Ireland, Jason has led the company through a sustained period of creative and commercial success, championing British artists on the global stage while driving a culture rooted in innovation, inclusion and long-term artist development. He also oversees Sony Music’s 2026-28 stewardship of the BRIT Awards, having spearheaded the successful move to Manchester back in February this year.
Campaign Wins for Pink Floyd, JADE, and Sleep Token
On the night, Sony Music also won best Catalogue Marketing Campaign for Pink Floyd, which achieved two No.1 albums in the same year.
RCA picked up best Artist Marketing Campaign for JADE, highlighting the strength and impact of this culture-defining, artist-focused campaign, and also took home the Music Consumer Innovation award for the Sleep Token / Download Festival 2025 geo-drop experience, with the UK band recognised as one of the standout export successes of 2025.
In addition, Sony Music Publishing was named Publisher of the Year, with its roster of songwriters contributing to a wide range of successful releases over the period.
The awards reflected Sony Music UK’s success spanning artist development, marketing, catalogue and publishing, and its ongoing role in supporting both established and emerging talent.
A huge congratulations to Jason and the teams across Sony Music on these well-deserved recognitions.
