Seven Tracks Introduce Just Jayne On Debut EP ‘Jayne’

Just Jayne have released their debut EP, Jayne, via The Core Records. The project by Nashville-based singer-songwriters Taylor Edwards, Jillian Steele and Rachel Wiggins includes new songs “Emergency Contact” and “Bad Day.” Visualizers for both new songs arrive with the EP, which centers the trio’s three-part harmonies and country-pop songwriting.

The EP also collects the previously released songs “Love A Loser,” “What’s His Name?,” “Climate Change,” “Death & Taxes,” and “White Picket Fence.” Just Jayne worked with songwriters including Meghan Trainor, Kid Harpoon, Tyler Johnson, Sasha Alex Sloan and Allison Veltz Cruz across the project. Trainor, Kid Harpoon and Johnson co-wrote “Bad Day,” while Edwards, Steele and Wiggins wrote “Emergency Contact” with Sloan and King Henry. Kid Harpoon’s credits include Harry Styles and Maggie Rogers, while Johnson has worked with Harry Styles, SZA and Sam Smith. The songs move between breakup lines and more reflective stories about relationships, friendship, self-worth and expectations for the future.

The title Jayne grew out of the trio’s own names and the shared experiences they found while writing together despite coming from different parts of the country. Edwards grew up in Georgia, Steele in New York, and Wiggins between California and Arkansas. The group said those differences repeatedly led them back to similar stories about heartbreak, uncertainty, and coming of age. “She started as a combination of the three of us, but she’s become every girl in a way — your best friend, your big sister, or a version of yourself,” Just Jayne said of the character behind the project. “We hope people can hear these songs and find a little piece of themselves in her.”

At Flamingo on August 13, Just Jayne performed the project for fans during a record-release party. Taste of Country, meanwhile, recently included the trio in its “RISERS: 2026 Artists to Watch” roundup. Earlier in 2026, Just Jayne made their international debut at C2C Festival in London. Their 2026 live schedule has also included dates supporting Nate Smith on his Long Live Country Rock and Roll Tour, along with festival appearances at CMA Fest and LASSO MONTRÉAL.
