Josiah Queen Shares New Single ‘sundays’ From ‘Damascus Road’

Josiah Queen has released “sundays,” the latest single from his third studio album, Damascus Road, which arrives October 23. Produced by John Michael Howell, the track comes days after Queen announced the album. Before selecting the release, Queen asked fans to vote on which song they wanted to hear next, placing the choice with the audience that has supported his recent releases.

“sundays” begins with a stripped-back vocal centered on Queen’s dependence on God before building into a driving folk-rock arrangement. The lyrics focus on practicing faith throughout the week rather than limiting it to church attendance. In the chorus, Queen uses everyday comparisons to make the point, contrasting spiritual consistency with eating only on Sundays or trying to drive a car on an empty tank. The arrangement grows in intensity alongside the message, moving from an intimate opening into a fuller, more forceful chorus.

Damascus Road will contain 14 faith-centered tracks and serves as the follow-up to Queen’s 2025 album Mt. Zion, which received a GMA Dove Award nomination for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. Queen has also unveiled the project’s official tracklist and a teaser introducing the record. In connection with the physical release, 100% of net proceeds from CD editions sold through Queen’s official website will be donated to Global Christian Relief.

The release follows “make heaven crowded,” which arrived in May, and “demons,” a gold-certified single that has surpassed 100 million streams, reached No. 1 at Christian radio, and topped Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. “Dusty Bibles” became a platinum-certified Billboard Hot 100 entry, while “Can’t Steal My Joy” earned gold certification and reached No. 1 at Christian radio. Queen received seven nominations for the 2026 GMA Dove Awards, including Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year, with both “Can’t Steal My Joy” and “Dusty Bibles” nominated for Song of the Year. He is scheduled to perform at the Iowa State Fair on August 23 before beginning the U.K./European leg of the Mt. Zion Tour in Belfast on September 14, followed by dates in Manchester, London, Paris, and other cities.
