Rotherham band The Reytons are battling London girl group FLO to score their second Number 1 album with ‘A Love Letter To A Broken Town’.
They previously scored their first chart-topper with their second album, ‘What’s Rock And Roll?’
FLO, meanwhile, are tailing the band at Number Two thanks to their second album, ‘Therapy At The Club’.
It would mark FLO’s first Number One should they emerge victorious; their debut album ‘Access All Areas‘ peaked at Number Three when it dropped in 2024.

We spoke to The Reytons in 2023 about their battle for Number One. The band self-released their record ‘What’s Rock And Roll?’, and reacted to the news they were Number One in the midweek charts when we spoke to them.
“The mood just changed when the midweeks dropped and said we were Number One,” frontman Jonny Yerrell told NME at the time. “Everyone’s going, ‘We’re gonna do it! We’re gonna do it!’ It’s just been crazy, honestly. I never knew what to expect but now that I’m in the moment of it happening, it’s just surreal.”
He continued: “Every artist wants to have a Number One album. But when you’re talking to people like Jack Saunders on Radio 1… I’m just looking down the camera and he’s there in the studio. It’s like, ‘What the fuck?! This is real now’.”
On achieving Number One with no label, he added: “We’re proud that we’ve done it independently, and it’s just a reminder that you can do it. Because we’ve had so many doors shut in our face over the years that we’ve had to literally find different ways around things, make things happen our own way.
“There’s no financial backing, we never started with any money,” Yerrell went on to say. “We started with very little money, if anything. We’ve had to work our way to where we are. The whole Reytons thing is just to say, ‘This is a community’, and I want everyone to feel part of that. And also feel like they can achieve it as well.”
