House Of The Dragon delivered death, betrayal and fiery spectacle in the season three finale.
In the eighth episode of season three, titled The Treasons Of Tumbleton, Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) becomes more ruthless when she discovers Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) is still alive. As her enemies start to close in, she wages war against Tumbleton and looks to officially take the throne.

Who dies in the House Of The Dragon season 3 finale?

Several key characters die in the final episode. The first to bite the dust was The High Septon (Simon Chandler), who is killed by Alyn of Hull (Abubakar Salim) under orders from Rhaenyra, after he refused to anoint her as the rightful heir to the throne.
Ser Roderick Dustin (Tommy Flanagan) and Ormund Hightower (James Norton) had the most memorable deaths of the episode. During the battle at Tumbleton, Roderick plunged a sword up Ormund’s posterior, pinning him against the wall.
Ulf White (Tom Bennett) appeared to be on Ormund’s side when he took to the skies on his dragon and rained down fire against Daemon’s (Matt Smith) army. However, after being mistreated by both sides, Ulf showed he has no allegiance to anyone, and burned both Ormund and Roderick to death before he set Tumbleton ablaze as well.
During the battle at Tumbleton, Hugh Hammer’s wife Kat (Ellora Torchia) died off-screen. We see Hugh find her body amid the conflict, although it’s unclear how she died.
The final death is Helaena Targaryen (Phia Saban), who killed herself by jumping out the Red Keep window where she’s been imprisoned all season. It’s unclear why she made this decision exactly, but earlier in the episode, Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) told her that Rhaenyra would never let her be free, because she’s a bargaining chip now Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) is still alive.
Where does this leave Rhaenyra?

Rhaenyra has killed the High Septon and declared herself to be the Prince That Was Promised to her subjects in King’s Landing – in a desperate bid to enforce her rule.
However, she’s facing threats from all sides. Ulf’s allegiance is unclear after going against Daemon and Ormund. Aemond and Aegon have formed an alliance, albeit on shaky terms, in a bid to overthrow Rhaenyra. Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), meanwhile, is on the route back to King’s Landing after trying – and failing – to kill her son Aemond, unaware that her daughter Helaena is now dead, which could be the final straw for her.
We last see Rhaenyra enter the Red Keep in the aftermath of Helaena’s death, where she discovers the tapestry she’d created – seemingly based on her future visions. The fabric shows Rhaenyra atop the throne, bleeding and surrounded by fire.
