Per a report via Variety, Strong is apparently in the running for the role of Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime manager. Landau first took notice of Springsteen in 1974 when he was a music critic, and was hired as The Boss’ manager in 1975.

Between 1975 and 1992, Landau co-produced nine albums with Springsteen including classics like ‘Nebraska’, ‘Born In the U.S.A.’ and ‘Born To Run’.

Should Strong be cast as Landau, he will star alongside The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White, who will portray Springsteen. The film is set to be directed by Scott Cooper, who directed the Jeff Bridges-led Crazy HeartBlack MassAntlers and more. Springsteen and Landau are also reportedly actively involved in the project.

Deliver Me From Nowhere will chronicle Springsteen making the beloved ‘Nebraska’ record, which began to take shape as Springsteen and the E Street Band were recording ‘Born In The USA’. The film is also based on Warren Zanes’ book Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.

‘Nebraska’ was Springsteen’s sixth album, and it stands out in his catalogue due to the stripped back nature of the recordings. He was going through a dark psychological period, and had recorded a batch of songs as demos on a 4-track recorder, intending to re-record them with the E Street Band. Ultimately, the singer decided to release the demos as they were.

Springsteen recently kicked off his UK and European tour on May 5 in Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. The show was the start of a three-month string of dates that will take him up to two climactic shows at London’s Wembley Stadium on 25 and 27 July.

He also made a cameo appearance in a recent episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and released the career-spanning compilation ‘Best Of Bruce Springsteen’ in April via Sony Music.
