BTS’s Jungkook Featuring On The Kid LAROI’s “Too Much” Wasn’t The Original Plan

The Kid LAROI has been vocal about his admiration for BTS and had the opportunity to collaborate with BTS’s maknae Jungkook on his track “Too Much,” which also featured British rapper Central Cee.

The track was released on October 20, and since then, The Kid LAROI has opened up about how the song came to be and has even released joint content with Jungkook.

Most recently, The Kid LAROI sat down for an interview with American radio personality Zach Sang to discuss his new music, recent whereabouts, and his friendship with Jungkook.

During the interview, The Kid LAROI broke down the behind-the-scenes making of “Too Much” and how another global star almost featured on the track before he found his perfect match with Jungkook.

The Kid LAROI explained that he was in the studio and happened to be there at the same time his fellow labelmate, Canadian singer Justin Bieber, was recording.

During his recording session, the Australian singer was presented with the beat for “Too Much” and was working on different potential melodies for the song.

While struggling with the hook, Justin Bieber walked into his studio and asked to listen to what they were working on. After hearing the beat, he asked to be “punched in” and effortlessly created the hook for “Too Much,” that BTS’s Jungkook now sings.

Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI had previously collaborated on their smash hit “STAY” in 2021 and attempted to release “Too Much” as a collab again, but logistically could not work it out with their busy schedules.

Instead, The Kid LAROI sent Jungkook the song through a mutual acquaintance, and the BTS maknae accepted the invite to feature on the song.

[How] JK came about… there’s another record that we were thinking about [asking him] if he wanted to get on [it]. I was unsure about it. I was like, ‘I don’t know if this is the one for us to do together… I’m going back and forth in my mind.

After contemplating asking Jungkook to feature on a different song, The Kid LAROI’s friend, producer and songwriter Omer Fedi, suggested inviting him to feature on “Too Much.”

According to The Kid LAROI, everything clicked into place after Fedi made the suggestion, and he realized how perfect Jungkook’s voice would be for the song.

The Kid LAROI had wanted to work with Central Cee for a while, adding the British rapper to the track to be able to release their hit song “Too Much” in October.

The Australian singer had nothing but praise for the BTS maknae and also spilled on Jungkook’s true personality.
