Fortnite is seemingly teasing a crossover event with hit horror movie Obsession.

Released earlier this year, Obsession is a “monkey-paw” horror that sees Inde Navarrette’s Nikki become fixated on Michael Johnston’s Bear after his wish goes wrong. The movie has made over $440million worldwide from a $750,000 budget with director Curry Barker already talking about turning his other YouTube shorts into feature films.
And now the spooky film could be coming to online shooter Fortnite. Yesterday (July 20) game developers Epic Games shared a new trailer that reworks clips from the movie to include Fortnite easter eggs. The ‘One Wish Willow’ is renamed ‘One Llama Luck’ and Fortnite’s Zero Point Sprite haunts Bear. “Watch the Obsession. Play the Obsession,” reads the caption.
The trailer is promoting the digital release of Obsession but fans believe it’s the first part of an ongoing collaboration.
Following the success of Obsession, fans unearthed Twitch streams from breakout star Navarrette.
The videos have been removed from her channel but earlier this month, a new YouTube channel under Navarrette’s name re-uploaded some of the clips. Two videos spanning ten hours in total see Navarrette playing through the original The Last Of Us, while other videos see her enjoying the horror game Outlast. In the first nine days, the clips were viewed more than 1.6million times. TikToks of her playing Call Of Duty while wearing a Toad hat have also blown up.
Over the weekend, Navarrette went viral after receiving a rare copy of 2009’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Epic Games has also teased the arrival of pop star Addison Rae via their DC Summer trailer.
In other news, Battlefield 6 has announced a new collaboration with Top Gun: Maverick, that includes stars of the blockbuster recording new voice lines for the event – although Tom Cruise isn’t involved.
