In an interview with IGN, Holland (who plays Peter Parker / Spider-Man) and Zendaya (MJ) were asked if they’d taken any inspiration from the hugely-popular Marvel’s Spider-Man games for the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
“We love the games, the games are absolutely sensational,” replied Holland. “I’m not very good at playing video games. I get very frustrated because I want to play it all by myself, and he’ll try to come [help me],” added Zendaya. “I’m like ‘no, I need to do this on my own’. You can’t help me.” The pair then reflected on a section of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 where MJ turns into Scream after being infected with a Symbiote. “She was stressing me out,” said Zendaya
“[Zendaya] had done it all herself and wouldn’t share the controller because she was like ‘I’ve come this far alone’,” said Holland, who ended up helping her get past that level of the game.
Previously, Holland admitted that he snuck one of the moves from Marvel’s Spider-Man into 2021’s No Way Home.
After the pair praised the games, Marvel’s Spider-Man developers Insomniac invited the actors on a tour of the studio. “If you’re ever near Burbank, you’re always welcome to swing by the studio to see how we make ’em! We’d love to show you around,” they wrote on social media.
Earlier this year Peter Parker actor Ben Jordan teased that work has started on a new Marvel’s Spider-Man game. It comes after Peter Parker voice actor Yuri Lowenthal confirmed he would feature heavily in the unannounced Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, after the previous game ended with Miles Morales as the main Spider-Man. “Peter is not gone,” said Lowenthal. “He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.”
In other news, Olivia Rodrigo has teased a new collaboration with Fortnite following the release of third album ‘You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love’.
