KickFlip Bring Youthful Charm with 4th Mini Album “My First Kick”

KickFlip has returned with their 4th mini album My First Flip,” on April 6.

Having previously sung of first love with cheerful energy in their 3rd mini album,  KickFlip now ushers in the spring of twenty—a prologue to their twenties filled with fluttering excitement—through their fourth mini album in 2026, a year in which every member has officially entered their twenties.

The 4th mini album, ‘My First Kick,’ captures the story of a first love that continues amidst the clumsy spring of twenty, a time when everything is a brand-new experience. It depicts the chaotic, trial-and-error nature of first challenges at age twenty—and the embarrassing failures that make you want to “kick the covers” in mortification—yet emphasizes that the spirit of challenge lives on. The same applies to first love. Having mustered the courage to confess through the title track of their 3rd mini album, ‘The First Song I Sing’—only to get soundly “kicked” (rejected) in the end—the group returns with a story of bold, direct confessions; unyielding and unabashed in their pursuit of love. It is a narrative that is quintessentially KickFlip.

“My First Kick” features a total of seven tracks, including the title track ‘Eye-Poppin’’ and the pre-release single ‘Twenty,’ alongside ‘Stup!d,’ ‘Backward,’ ‘Scroll,’ ‘Roar,’ and ‘My Direction.’ Following their third mini-album, the members once again participated in the production of every track on this release, crafting music that is fully imbued with their signature “Kickflip Core.”

The title track, ‘Eye-Poppin’,’ is a hyper-punk-based dance song that showcases a bolder, more daring evolution of Kickflip’s sound. It captivates listeners with its blend of fluttering excitement and uninhibited, forward-moving romantic energy. This straightforward confession song—in which the narrator charges headfirst toward a first love without a moment’s hesitation—is further enlivened by the bouncy, playful lyrical style unique to Kickflip, a group currently garnering buzz as “flirting experts.”

Leader Gyehun participated in both the lyrics and composition, infusing the track with their signature “Kick-Ral” (Kickflip-style vivacity) through cheeky lines such as: “Where are you going? Your spot is right here,” “Am I being a nuisance? Well, I’ll make sure you think of me anyway,” and “You can blow me off—after all, I’m your human chewing gum.”
