Today (January 22), BLACKPINK’s Jennie and her label Odd Atelier officially announced the K-pop idol’s debut solo album, titled ‘Ruby’. They also dropped the first teaser clip for the record on her social media pages, teasing its release date and the all-star slate of featured artists.
‘Ruby’ will contain a total of 15 songs, including her October 2024 single ‘Mantra’. According to the video clip, the record will feature Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, FKJ and Kali Uchis as guest artists.
BLACKPINK’s Jennie will release ‘Ruby’ on March 7. More details about the record, including its track list and future singles, are expected in the coming weeks.

Prior to the announcement, Jennie had teased the record in previous interviews. “My album is going to sound very different. My next single is going to sound very different from ‘Mantra’, I feel like every step is going to be different,” she said in a 2024 recap for Christmas.
In another interview with Billboard earlier this month, the Korean musician also revealed that she “struggled a lot in the beginning” recording ‘Ruby’ while in Los Angeles. Jennie also noted that the creation of her album helped her better understand her sense of self. “It’s a fight between me, myself and I — I’m not easy to convince,” she shared.
Upon its release in October, ‘Mantra’ earned Jennie her first solo Billboard Hot 100 appearance, marking her first solo entry after she previously appeared on the chart alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp for The Idol soundtrack ‘One Of The Girls’.
‘Mantra’ was also Jennie’s first solo project under her self-established label and since she signed a partnership deal with Columbia Records. Odd Atelier was established in late 2023, shortly after YG Entertainment announced that she and her BLACKPINK bandmates would not be renewing their solo contracts with the company.
