Now, the first wave performers for this year’s ceremony have been revealed, with Spice, who is nominated for the Best Caribbean Music Act, set to take to the stage, as well as Krept & Konan.
Bashy is also set to perform, having received nominations for Album of the Year, Best Male Act in association with Prostate Cancer UK and Best Hip-hop Act following the release of his recent album ‘Being Poor Is Expensive’. The record was his first in 15 years and also came in at 31 on NME‘s 50 Best Albums of 2024 list.
MOBO Founder & CEO Kanya King CBE said: “Each of these artists brings something truly special to the stage, and this is just the beginning. From the vibrant energy of dancehall to the dynamic sounds of UK rap and R&B, we’re curating a night full of unforgettable moments.”
Alongside the performers, MOBO have also today (January 20) announced that Prostate Cancer UK is the official Charity Partner of the 2025 Awards, as well as the sponsor of the Best Male Act category. King said of the partnership: “Cancer is something that has personally impacted my life, making this partnership with Prostate Cancer UK deeply meaningful. At MOBO, we’ve always strived to use our platform to inspire change and address issues affecting our community.
“With 1 in 4 Black men at risk of prostate cancer, this collaboration is an opportunity to amplify a lifesaving message, challenge health inequalities, and encourage more men to seek early diagnosis. Together, we can create awareness and save lives.”
