The new auction gives Newcastle United fans a chance to own a piece of football history, as shirts worn by the team during the Carabao Cup quarter-final victory at St. James’ Park are officially available to buy.
They come with a bespoke design which celebrates the North Shields-born singer, songwriter and guitarist, and each shirt has been match-worn or issued and signed by players including Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton.
Available on MatchWornShirt, the proceeds raised from the auction will be donated to the Newcastle United Foundation. This will benefit community initiatives across the North East, heading to programmes that promote education, opportunities, health and social inclusion for young people and families in the area.

Each shirt comes with a personal digital certificate of authenticity, and bidding is open now. The auction will run until January 19 and you can visit here to place a bid and find out more information.
The charity efforts from Fender come in celebration of his highly-anticipated third album ‘People Watching’, which is set to be shared on February 21 via Polydor (pre-order/pre-save here).
The record was produced by Fender alongside his bandmates Dean Thompson and Joe Atkinson, producer Markus Dravs and The War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel.
He first hinted that he had been working with the latter back in March 2024, sharing footage of them in the studio together alongside producers, engineers and other musicians. Then, in October Fender confirmed that the new album was finished and “mastered”. It will be his first LP since 2021’s sophomore album ‘Seventeen Going Under’.
After previewing the album in November with the title track ‘People Watching‘, Fender went on to announce details of some huge UK stadium shows for this summer.
The shows will kick off with his biggest-ever headline show at London Stadium on June 6, before continuing in his Newcastle hometown at St. James’ Park on June 12, 14 and 15. For the latter, the musician played that same 52,000-capacity venue back in 2023, and it’ll also see the songwriter break the record for most headline shows at St James’ Park – an honour previously held by The Rolling Stones.
You can find a full list of 2025 tour dates here, and visit here for remaining tickets to all of the upcoming shows.
Last month, Fender’s concert in Leeds was given a four-star review by NME, which read: “There’s no radical shake-up of the setlist, but rather a sense of self-confidence to double down on a reliable approach that’s served him well.
“While tonight affirms that ‘People Watching’ material will have to fight for its place, a successful balance of old and new could hoist Sam Fender’s career to unprecedented heights. Glastonbury, anyone?”
