The duo, who are most famous for The Lightning Seeds‘ football anthem ‘Three Lions’, will be making an appearance on the Channel 4 show this Friday (October 25) for the Stand Up To Cancer charity.

Skinner told The Sun: “It is an amazing cause and Dave and me, back on a sofa, seems a better deal than cycling up K2, carrying a fridge to Istanbul or any of that sweaty stuff people do for charity.”

Baddiel added: “I’m a big fan of Gogglebox, Stand Up To Cancer, and Frank Skinner, so this wasn’t a difficult yes. If we can raise awareness and cash to fight this terrible disease, it’s worth the huge effort of slumping in front of the screen with my old friend.”

Stephen Merchant and Josh Widdicombe are also set to make an appearance on this week’s show.

“I don’t usually allow talking when the TV is on, because I know how much hard work goes into making shows, so I try to give them my full attention,” Merchant said. “But I’m happy to break my own rule for Stand Up to Cancer and join the Gogglebox special this year with my pal Josh Widdicombe. The charity does fantastic work, raising money for life-saving research, and it’s a privilege to be involved.”

Widdicombe added: “Stand Up to Cancer is an incredible cause so I am honoured to be involved. I love Stephen and particularly like working with him when we are sitting down so I don’t look like a hobbit next to him.”

Celebrity Gogglebox is available to watch and stream on Channel 4 at 9pm BST this Friday.

In the past the likes of Danny Dyer, Self Esteem and Bimini Bon Boulash, Melanie CShaun Ryder and Bez and Eurovision runner-up Sam Ryder have appeared on the show.
