Steam Next Fest happens twice a year, with a number of developers releasing free-to-play demos for their upcoming games. The October event started Monday October 14, and will finish on Sunday evening (20).

Thousands of demos are currently available on Steam for players to try out, but the most popular one is Delta Force, a free-to-play extraction shooter set in two different eras.

The original Delta Force was released in 1998 and helped define the tactical first-person shooter. “With 25 years of defining the genre, Delta Force now features three distinct gameplay modes: large-scale PvP warfare, intense extraction shooter action, and the legendary Black Hawk Down campaign,” reads the description. The game has currently been wishlisted 2.1million times.

Other popular Steam Next Fest demos include battle royale hero shooter SUPERVIVE, third person hero shooter Strinova, 2D fighter Rings Of Aether 2 and Gladio Mori, a Gladiator-inspired fighting game that boasts “organ-specific damage” and a lot of knives.

Rounding out the Top 10 are adventure platformer POPUCOM, open-world combat builder Sand, hack n’ slash roguelike Windblown, crime noir thriller The Precinct and sandbox role-playing-game Streets Of Rogue 2.

Online cooking sim Fast Food Simulator and open-world survival craft game Tinkerlands are also proving popular. “Explore, craft, and fight your way on the uncharted islands solo or in co-op! Tinkerlands is an exciting survival adventure where you will build your settlement, craft useful tools to survive, and even use magic,” reads a description, with thousands of people playing concurrently.
