Giant Rooks have released their new single “The Big Night Out,” the latest preview of their third studio album, If Heaven Exists, This Might Be It. The 12-track album is due October 16 and follows the German band’s previous albums Rookery and How Have You Been?. “The Big Night Out” centers on a romantic relationship caught between closeness and emotional distance, as its narrator tries to prevent an impending separation.
The song follows a couple facing uncertainty as one partner prepares to leave for Marseille. Its lyrics address the fear of losing a relationship head-on, including the recurring plea, “tell me how I can make you stay.” Those themes connect with the wider focus of If Heaven Exists, This Might Be It, which examines connection, alienation, memory, love and friendship across its 12 songs.
The album will arrive before Giant Rooks begin a North American tour in November. The nine-date run opens at Boston’s House of Blues on November 12 before visiting Brooklyn Steel in New York on November 13 and Union Transfer in Philadelphia on November 14. The band will also play Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club, Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl, Chicago’s Vic Theatre and other venues before concluding the run at Toronto’s Opera House on November 22.
Giant Rooks played two sold-out hometown shows in Hamm, Germany, in 2025, following a busy year of touring in 2024. That year, the band completed its third sold-out North American headline tour and appeared as a special guest for Louis Tomlinson. Giant Rooks also performed at Lollapalooza Chicago, Reading & Leeds and Corona Capital in Mexico City during 2024. The group has accumulated four billion combined streams and earned an RIAA Gold certification in the United States, while How Have You Been? reached No. 1 on the German album chart.
