Detective Takes Stand In Kewon White Trial, Says Yella Beezy Paid For MO3 Hit

Kevon White, the man accused of killing Dallas rapper MO3, is currently on trial and a testimony delivered this week could prove detrimental in his defense. A detective took the stand, alleging that rapper Yella Beezy paid Kevon White to carry out the deadly hit.

As reported by local outlet KDFW, Det. Eric Barnes, who led the investigation, took the stand on Wednesday (September 2) as the state’s witness, with prosecutors alleging that Yella Beezy, real name Markies Conway, withdrew $40,000 out of his bank to pay White.

Yella Beezy has denied any involvement in M03’s killing, and pleaded not guilty to capital murder. White, already serving time on an unrelated gun charge, also has pleaded not guilty to the capital murder charge. The outlet also added that a third defendant, Devin Brown, is also facing a captial murder charge.

The bad blood between MO3, real name Melvin Noble, and Yella Beezy dates back to 2017 and came to a head in 2020 when MO3 was ambushed and eventually killed in a daytime shooting on a Dallas interstate.

Det. Barnes is set to appear in court today to be cross-examined by the defense on Thursday. Kevon White’s trail is expected to take two weeks, with trials for Yella Beezy and Brown to follow.
