Nashville-based singer and songwriter Maggie Antone has inked a label deal with Island Records, following her 2024 breakthrough released through her own independent label Big Love, Rhinestoned.
Of the signing, Maggie said, “Partnering with Island feels so serendipitous, and though it’s bittersweet to no longer be an independent artist, I feel more independent than ever. It just feels so right.”
Antone also shared the news in an Instagram post, captioning a carousel of photos by writing, “and just like that…i’m an island gallllll .” The collection of photos captures a visit to New York that included a visit to a hot dog cart and Antone’s signature being added to Island Records’ wall of autographs.
“Maggie is a rare kind of artist—an excellent songwriter with a distinct voice and deep understanding of who she is.” said Jackie Winkler, Head of A&R at Island.
Added Justin Eshak and Imran Majid, Co-Chairmen and CEOs of Island Records, “She has built an authentic connection with her fans on her own terms, and we’re excited to support her as she enters this next chapter.”
Antone’s aforementioned debut LP Rhinestoned arrived in August of 2024, and in an interview with People that same month, she spoke about the influence behind the project: “Rhinestoned is very much a concept album. It’s a story album. It’s about coping and sometimes not coping, even with the best of coping mechanisms. Side A is relatively upbeat and happy, and then side B is ‘rip my heart out, throw it on the ground’ type of thing.”
Following a banner year that included her debut at the Grand Ole Opry, Antone kept up the momentum in 2025 with festival performances at ACL in Austin, Windy City Smokeout, and Under the Big Sky. She also released a single,“The Devil’s Not In Hell.”
Maggie’s first gigs as a member of the Island Records family include a performance at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion in Bristol, Tennessee, on September 13, followed by the State Fair of Texas in Dallas on October 13.
