In week 2 of Lil Durk’s murder-for-hire trial, OTF Vonni took the stand, where text messages between the Chicago rapper and fellow OTF members were presented in court.

The messages allegedly discussed plans involving retaliation following King Von’s death, with Vonni testifying that Durk grew frustrated with the crew over what he viewed as a lack of urgency in getting revenge for his fallen friend.

At one point, Durk allegedly reference NBA YoungBoy, suggesting that YoungBoy and his crew would have already retaliated under similar circumstances.

“Let it be YB and nem. Shorty be out every night. We got the lo on a MF and guess he at club like he ain’t got be worried about. Set said Chicago only, but in the A, they think we sweet.”

Smurk was reportedly asked to clarify who “YB” referred to in a follow-up message, to which he allegedly responded, “NBA YoungBoy.”

YB’s name has remained connected to the story due to his longstanding reported tension with Durk. While the exact origins of their issues have never been fully confirmed, tensions amplified following King Von’s death.

Quando Rondo, who is affiliated with YoungBoy’s collective, became further connected to the conflict after Lul Timm was accused of shooting King Von during the 2020 altercation in Atlanta.

As testimony continues, the messages presented in court are offering more insight into the alleged tensions surrounding Durk and his associates following Von’s death.
