Don Toliver continues to surprise his fans on tour, bringing out some major names along the way.
During his Miami show, the Houston rapper brought out Justin Timberlake for full-circle moment. Toliver sampled JT’s “Rock Your Body” on his new album, using the classic record on Track 2, “Body.” Timberlake even performed Toliver’s version of the song with him, giving fans a memorable moment.
Then came Toronto. There was really only one person Don could bring out in the 6ix that would make sense, and he understood the assignment by surprising fans with Drake.
Drizzy kicked things off with a classic speech, pointing out that he and Don share the same hometown of Houston but were currently standing in “the greatest city in the world,” Toronto.
The two then performed several songs, including tracks from Drake’s latest album ICEMAN, such as “Shabang” and “Burning Bridges.”
But here’s where things get interesting, Don Toliver is signed to Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Records, making Drake’s appearance notable despite the rumors of beef between Travis Scott and the 6 God.
During the height of the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar beef, Travis Scott appeared on stage with Metro Boomin and encouraged him to play “Like That,” the Future and Metro Boomin track that ignited the fued. Follow the moment, rumors circulated that Drake distanced himself from Travis.
With those rumors still surrounding the two Houston stars, Don bringing Drake on stage could raise some eyebrows. The appearance coudl signal that Drake and Travis have moved past any reported issues, or simply show that Don is keeping his own releases with fellow artists separate from the rumors surrounding his label boss.
Either way, seeing Drake and Cactus Jack’s biggest artist share the stage is an interesting moment, especially given the reported history between The Boy and La Flame.
