Violet Grohl cancels UK tour dates after losing voice ahead of Reading & Leeds

Violet Grohl has cancelled two dates of her current UK headline tour after losing her voice.

The singer-songwriter is out on the road for a run of UK and European shows in support of her debut album, ‘Be Sweet To Me’, which was released in May.

However, Grohl told fans in a statement yesterday (Tuesday August 25) that her scheduled performance at Manchester’s Band On The Wall would not be going ahead – just hours before she was due on stage.

She also confirmed that her planned gig at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut for tonight (Wednesday August 26) had been shelved.

“Hey everyone, really fucking bummed to have to let yall know I’m canceling tonight and tomorrow’s shows in Manchester and Glasgow,” Grohl wrote.

“I don’t have a voice right now and it pains me to make this decision, but I just can’t perform.”

The artist went on to confirm that she was “rescheduling these shows and everyone who bought a ticket will receive the updated info”, adding: “Looking forward to seeing you soon xx I’ll be back!!!”

Details on the new dates are yet to be revealed, at the time of writing. Check out the announcement post below.

The news comes ahead of Grohl’s slots at Reading & Leeds 2026 this week. She’ll perform at the northern edition of the dual-site festival on Friday (August 28), before heading down south to Reading on Sunday (August 30). Grohl will make an appearance at Ireland’s Electric Picnic on Saturday (August 29).

From there, the artist is set to play two gigs at the Barfly Camden in London on September 1 and 2. She’ll return to the UK and Ireland in October for more concerts in Liverpool, Bristol, London, Brighton, Belfast and Dublin.

Grohl will perform in Paris in September, too, and embark on a run of shows in North America. Find any remaining tickets here.

This spring, Grohl opened up about being a young woman in rock, saying: “I don’t like male musicians my age – I don’t care. They have attitude problems. They’ve been saying this about us for so fucking long – it’s time that they sit down, be quiet and play their music.

“The best advice I’ve been given is that it’s OK to say no or that you don’t want to do something.”

She continued: “For a lot of women, it took them a really long time to accept and implement that into their lives. It’s inspiring to be around the kinds of people who don’t give a fuck and will say whatever they feel.”

Meanwhile, her father – Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl – previously revealed he had “no idea” that his daughter had signed a record deal until she told him over dinner.

“I’m totally uninvolved,” he explained. “I’m like the dad that wants to be there and know everything and she’s just totally doing her own thing. It’s amazing.”

Meanwhile, Reading & Leeds 2026 will host headline performances from Florence + The MachineCharli XCXFontaines D.C.DaveRaye, Chase & Status and Kasabian (Leeds only). Check out the full stage times here.
