Tiffany Young presents her first full-length solo album, Edge of Calm on August 20.
Edge of Calm captures moments where a subtle tension—poised right before a state of tranquility—intersects with a balance of emotions. Amidst an atmosphere that is at once composed and intense, Tiffany Young unfolds her signature delicate emotional nuances, vividly showcasing her deepened artistic sensibility, matured visuals, and an expanded musical universe.
Comprising a total of 11 tracks—including the pre-release single “Summer’s Not Over” and its Korean version—the album spans diverse genres to reflect her broad musical spectrum.
Notably, she elevated the album’s quality by personally participating in various stages of production, ranging from the overall conceptual planning to styling, visual directing, and the development of music video storylines.
The title track “Edge of Calm” portrays someone comforting a partner who’s visibly unraveling — exhausted, putting on a brave face that keeps slipping, restless despite trying to relax. The narrator offers steady, silent presence rather than advice or words, positioning themselves as a safe anchor (“the ground”) where their partner can let their guard down and fall apart without judgment. It’s ultimately about quiet, physical reassurance in a relationship
The second title track “Lips Together (feat. MIYEON)” is a flirty, playful track about seeking physical intimacy as emotional healing. The repeated invitation to “kiss me better” frames romance and touch as a cure for emotional numbness, with lines about fading pulse and dimmed lights suggesting a desire to feel reawakened and reconnected through a lover’s attention.
As her first full-length solo album, this work goes beyond mere musical activity; it serves as a medium to clearly articulate the artistic sensibilities and identity of Tiffany Young, allowing listeners to experience her deepened presence through both the music and the visuals.
