A name that, let’s be honest, needs very little introduction and that is singer-songwriter Audrey Nuna, who’s back with her new single “superHuman.”
It marks her first solo release since 2024’s Trench. “superHuman” interestingly explores what comes from achieving extraordinary external validation while staying grounded in what it means to be human. Dripping in a confidence that refuses to be ssh’d or quietened, Audrey’s lyricism instead challenges those thoughts. “Hey world, hit me with whatever you got,” as she boldly declares, “I’m on my superHuman shit.“
The perfect mix of what the world should be, right? Influencing women with her philosophical approach to music, at just 27 she has already created past tracks that have echoed that nonconformity. From her lyrics to her visuals, she is one that is always out of the box, unencumbered, and always leaves you wanting more. Reflected not just in that but also in her music videos, which are self-directed, Audrey is in total control of her identity as a person and artist; this is what has led her to success.
Discussing the influences behind the track, Audrey comments, “superHuman is a portal. I wrote this song in a time in my life where a lot was changing very quickly, and I felt more perceived by the world than I ever had before,” Audrey explains. “I wanted to capture that feeling – of redemption, of validation, of the tides finally turning. In the same breath, I wanted to quietly remind myself and others to stay human, stay open, and flow like water through all of the changes & that being more human will always be a superpower if we allow it.”
Following the launch of her new live show at Rock in Rio Lisboa last month, Audrey Nuna has continued her international festival run with standout performances at Summerfest, Open’er Festival, Roskilde Festival, Ruisrock, Gurtenfestival Bern, and Colours of Ostrava. Featuring dancers, choreography, immersive visuals, and unreleased music alongside fan favourites, the elevated production offers audiences a first glimpse of her next era. The global run continues this summer with a series of major festival debuts, including Hinterland Music Festival, Summer Sonic in Tokyo and Osaka, Frequency Festival, and Pukkelpop, as Audrey brings her most ambitious live show yet to new audiences across North America, Europe, and Asia.
