American Hi-Fi have announced that they’ll be reissuing three celebrated albums from their discography. The live album Rock N Roll Noodle Shop Live Tokyo from 2002 will arrive on CD and LP. Additionally, the Boston-based band will share their self-titled 2001 album on LP, and their 2003 sophomore effort The Art Of Losing on both vinyl and CD.
Rock N Roll Noodle Shop Live Tokyo will be released on vinyl for the very first time, and will now be available on CD globally. The band’s self-titled debut will also be pressed on black vinyl for the very first time, and The Art of Losing will be on vinyl for the first time ever, and will also make its return on CD.
These new reissues mark a very exciting time for the band, which consists of band leader Stacy Jones, Jamie Arentzen, Drew Parsons, and Brian Nolan. The band recently confirmed that they’ll be touring North America with Everclear this fall, beginning the run on October 22 in Los Angeles, before hitting cities like San Francisco, Denver, Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Louisville. The tour will conclude on November 22 in Nashville. In addition to the tour, the band has confirmed that they’re working on new music. The result would be their first album since 2014.
Tulsa-born Stacy Jones was a celebrated drummer with bands like Letters To Cleo and Veruca Salt before starting American Hi-Fi and serving as the band’s guitarist and lead vocalist.
“I started writing the songs [for American Hi-Fi] while I was still playing drums with Veruca Salt,” Jones told Rock Cellar in 2017. “We were playing shows and hanging around with Foo Fighters, so I was watching Dave Grohl and thinking ‘I’m gonna give [being a frontman] a shot’,” Jones told Rock Cellar in 2017.
A demo tape fortuitously led to a deal with Island Records, and the rest was history. “Next thing you know, we have a record deal and we hadn’t even played a show,” Jones added in 2017. “It was crazy. Then, after [American Hi-Fi’s first single] “Flavor Of The Weak” took off, we ended up jumping in full-bore for the next 5 or 6 years.” Now, fans can revisit that early era with these brand new reissues.
