The Guitar Hero series was put on hiatus after the release of 2015’s Guitar Hero Live but last year, original game developers revived their RedOctane studio and confirmed they were working on a brand new game. “This game won’t be Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Guitar Freaks or Rock Band. This is something new,” they wrote in the ‘A Genre Worth Fighting For – Our Return To Music Rhythm Games’ blog.

In June it was confirmed that Stage Tour would be launching later this year for ‘consoles and PC’. Over the past few weeks, developers have been revealing what songs will be featured in the game and last night, classics from Radiohead, The Cure and Bad Omens were confirmed for the Stage Tour soundtrack. “Nothing brings people together like a killer soundtrack, and Stage Tour is turning the volume all the way up,” explained the team at RedOctane. “Built to celebrate generations of music fans, the game’s officially licensed setlist blends iconic rock anthems with modern global hits spanning rock, metal, alt-rock, pop-punk, and beyond.”

When it’s released, Stage Tour will work with a variety of different controllers including a PC keyboard and will feature guitar, bass, drum and vocal inputs. It will also launch alongside a line-up of “purpose-built” hardware.
