The Kiwi pop star topped the bill at the festival, which is taking place at Chicago’s Grant Park until Sunday (August 2).

After treating the crowd to ‘Man Of The Year’ from her latest album ‘Virgin’, Lorde took the energy up with a live rendition of her huge collab with Charli – taken from 2024’s ‘Brat’ remix record.

The latest on-stage team-up for the pair came ahead of Charli’s own bill-topping slot at Lollapalooza tonight (Friday July 31). She’ll be performing in support of her new album ‘Music, Fashion, Film’.

Writing on X last night (Thursday July 30), Charli said: “When I started out I used to do shows where there would be like 2 friends and the promoter in the crowd and now tomorrow I’m headlining Lollapalooza. Crazy. Love you allll!!!! <3.”

She previously told fans: “I’m rehearsing my live show and I’m having a lot a lot a lot of fun….”

Next month, Charli will return to the UK to make her headline debut at Reading & Leeds festivals. She is then scheduled to embark on a North American arena tour in September. Find any remaining tickets here.

Lorde, meanwhile, is headlining this year’s All Points East in London on August 22. The following week, she’ll appear at Bristol’s Forwards Presents, and play at the Edinburgh Summer Sessions. Find tickets here.

The two singers previously joined forces for ‘Girl, So Confusing’ during Charli’s slot at Coachella 2025. Last autumn, Lorde invited Charli to join her in Los Angeles as part of her ‘Ultrasound’ world tour.

Lorde then began playing a solo version of the track at festivals this year, including New York’s Governors Ball.

The original version of ‘Girl, So Confusing’ appears on Charli’s hit 2024 album ‘Brat’ – not featuring Lorde – but was inspired by the ‘Royals’ singer. Charli touched on the industry tension they each faced, and how she once felt “super jealous” of the New Zealander’s success when she was younger.

Lorde then suggested that they come together for a collaborative remix. “[She] was like, ‘You know, maybe I should be on a version of the song’,” Charli remembered. “I didn’t even ask her. She brought it up.”

In a four-star review of ‘Music, Fashion, Film’, NME described the album as a “celebration of art – and its capacity to let you transcend your bounds for something new – feels urgent and timeless”.

Charli has shared an accompanying film, as well as a series of B-sides. Elsewhere, the singer revealed her top five Charli XCX songs, including the “ultimate party song” and a track that makes her feel “very sentimental”.

Meanwhile, Lorde has hit out at a new AI-generated feature on Spotify, saying that artists “don’t want this”.
