My Chemical Romance are currently on the European leg of their ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ anniversary tour. The show sees the band performing the classic emo album in full, before they play a second set on a b-stage in the middle of the venue.
On Saturday night (July 11), Way paused their show at Wembley Stadium to respond to a fan’s banner that asked if he had ever played Baldur’s Gate 3. His brother Mikey pointed out the banner to Gerard, who told the crowd that he’d never played the hit fantasy role-playing game. “I’ve only played Baldur’s Gate 1.”

“Not that I probably wouldn’t have liked 2 and 3. I did play the Icewind Dale expansion, but I just ran out of time,” he continued. “That’s a sick sign. You know why we answered that? Because we didn’t think to write that. Did you play Baldur’s Gate 3,” Gerard then asked the fan. “Is it good? I would assume so. That first one was a lot of fun. It was the closest thing at the time to playing Dungeons & Dragons.” Later, the fan shared a TikTok video showing their POV of the interaction.

Elsewhere during the set, Way paid tribute to British illustrator John Blanche who passed away last month. “He was an amazing painter and artist, all across the board. He was responsible for so much of Games Workshop and Warhammer,” said Gerard. “Towards the end, the last couple of years, people really started to recognise this guy and it was amazing. I want this really, really horrific, nasty, spooky song to go out to him,” he added, before the band played debut album cut ‘Vampires Will Never Hurt You’.
My Chemical Romance have two shows left of the European leg of their ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ world tour. After that, the band will play a series of huge dates in the US, with support from the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Pierce The Veil, Modest Mouse, Iggy Pop, Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, Babymetal, Jimmy Eat World and The Mars Volta, before heading to South America. In other news, the team behind God Of War: Laufey have confirmed the game will be launching at some point before January 2028.
