The couple, who announced their engagement last August, are reportedly set to celebrate their wedding at the New York venue this weekend, with a city permit obtained by the Associated Press outlining the schedule for the high-profile event.

According to the permit, around 100 guests were due to arrive at Madison Square Garden at 6:30pm last night (July 2) for a “pre party celebration”, understood to be an intimate rehearsal dinner.

The main event is then scheduled to begin at 5pm local time today (July 3), with the option to continue until 4am on Saturday morning. Records show that the celebration can host up to 1,000 people.

A full street closure was also due to come into effect overnight, allowing crews to erect a “drive through tent” and separate “entrance tent” outside the arena. Several blocks surrounding the venue are expected to be closed to vehicles from Friday afternoon, while access to Penn Station will also be heavily restricted.

A number of famous guests have already been spotted in New York ahead of the ceremony. Selena GomezJack Antonoff, Rachel Antonoff, Lena Dunham, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper and Swift’s longtime friend Ashley Avignone were among those reportedly seen heading to the rehearsal dinner.

Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, Greg Olsen and Travis Kelce’s close friend Aric Jones were also reported to have attended the pre-wedding event.

Other names linked to the guest list include Graham Norton, Greg James, Suki Waterhouse, Adam SandlerEd SheeranSabrina CarpenterCamila Cabello, the Haim sisters and Stevie Nicks, who is also expected to performHarry Styles was reportedly invited, but is unable to attend due to his Wembley Stadium shows in London.

Swift previously spoke about wanting a large wedding during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show last year, saying: “I know it’s going to be fun to plan, because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble. I’m not going to do that.”

The latest reports come after Swift and Kelce donated $26million (£19.5million) to 20 charities across the United States earlier this week.

The donations included gifts to food banks, children’s hospitals, education programmes, animal welfare charities and music organisations, with recipients including City Harvest, Food Bank For NYC, New York Cares, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Harvesters – The Community Food Network, The Store in Nashville, Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Feeding America, ASPCA, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Grammy In The Schools.

New York-based charities Education Through Music, Answer The Call, Musical Mentors, After-School All-Stars, MSK Kids at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone were also among the organisations named.

The wedding has also drawn comment from New York mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose office confirmed the “Special Event at MSG” permit had been approved on Wednesday night (July 1).

Mamdani has declined to go into further detail about the city’s role in the event, although he joked at a recent press conference: “If you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool.”

The mayor has also leaned into the Swift conversation this week by revealing his favourite Taylor Swift songs to the New York Times, with his list including ‘Only The Young’, ‘Love Story’, ‘My Tears Ricochet’, ‘Cruel Summer’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘I Know Places’.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Swift and Kelce’s wedding invitations reportedly came with NDAs ahead of the rumoured Madison Square Garden nuptials.

Swift released her latest album ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’ last October, with NME giving it three stars and writing: “To seek escapism is not a sin, but the best pop music makes the personal feel like life or death.”
