Gwen Stefani and co. concluded their 18-date run at the state-of-the-art venue last night (June 13), their first full run of shows in 14 years, and the follow-up to their reunion at Coachella 2024.
A regular spot at the shows has seen Stefani pluck out a member of the crowd and invite them onto the stage for a hug between songs, and at the final show, her eye fell on a sign at the front of the audience that read: “I’m just a girl who wants the last hug at the last Sphere show”.
Stefani pointed at the sign and asked the individual to “get up here right now”, and when she made it onto the stage, it was revealed to be Rodrigo.
“Is that Olivia Rodrigo?” Stefani asked. “Oh my gosh, give it up for Olivia Rodrigo! She has a new record that just came out.”
They hugged, Rodrigo leapt up and down in excitement, and then grabbed the mic. “No Doubt best band in the world!” she exclaimed. “I love you so much!” After she bounded off stage, Stefani quipped to the crowd: “That was really her”.

Rodrigo and No Doubt have a history – in 2024, the singer joined them for a rendition of ‘Bathwater’ during their comeback show at Coachella, while Rodrigo has described Stefani as a “prime example” of a “true artist”, and has covered their songs multiple times in the past, including ‘Just A Girl’ in 2022 and ‘Don’t Speak’ in 2025.
Rodrigo released her third studio album ‘You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love’ on Friday (June 12), which features ‘What’s Wrong With Me’, a collaboration with The Cure’s Robert Smith. They recently performed the song together at Primavera Sound.
Rodrigo is set to showcase the album on her massive ‘Unraveled Tour’. The trek will see her joined by Wolf Alice, The Last Dinner Party and more. Dates include multiple stops at The O2 in London, where more shows have been added due to huge demand. Visit here for UK tickets and here for international tickets.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo has addressed the “disturbing” controversy around her new babydoll dress look, saying that it “shows how we really normalise pedophilia in our culture”, and explained her outspoken approach to discussing politics, asserting that her goal is not “to be liked by all”.
