LittleBigPlanet was released in 2008, with players taking control of Sackboy to solve puzzles and complete platform levels across eight different realms. The game spawned two sequels and a number of spin-off titles including 2020’s Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

It’s now been confirmed that both of those game soundtracks will be getting a physical release via iam8bit.

Both the LittleBigPlanet 2LP vinyl set and a CD will feature 15 hand-selected songs from the original soundtrack alongside new artwork from Haley bbanditt Wakefield. “Perhaps the most impressive thing about LittleBigPlanet was the way it managed to make such a big, robust gameplay concept feel so dang cozy and warm,” explains a press release. “That spirit is alive and well in the game’s unforgettable soundtrack. Composers Mat Clark and Kenneth C M Young stitched together a soundtrack that draws inspirations from world music, family-friendly nursery rhymes, groovy blended mashups, and beyond.”

Meanwhile the Sackboy: A Big Adventure 2LP set and CD collection include 20 songs from the original game soundtrack. There’s also more new art from Wakefield. “Developer Sumo Digital took the already refined platforming core of LittleBigPlanet and spun it into a lovable, family-friendly romp through a colorful and imaginative world. Much of Sackboy’s distinctly English charm came from its warm, welcoming aesthetic – and, crucially, its equally warm and welcoming soundtrack,” says the product listing. “Sackboy’s soundtrack is a hummable, whimsical sonic odyssey packed toe to tip with delightful covers and lovely original compositions alike.”
