Nothing But Thieves announce new album ‘Stray Dogs’ with biggest ever headline tour of UK, Europe and North America

Nothing But Thieves have announced their new album ‘Stray Dogs’ with the anthemic new single ‘Evolution’ and news of their biggest ever headline tour.

The news of the upcoming album comes following the Southend five-piece celebrating their 10th anniversary last year. Set to embark on their next chapter, ‘Stray Dogs’ will be released on September 25 via RCA/Sony Music. Visit here to pre-order.

It marks their fifth studio album, following on from 2023’s ‘Dead Club City’ – their first chart-topper, as well as ‘Moral Panic’, ‘Broken Machine’ and ‘Nothing But Thieves’.

This time around, the band reveal that they have literally and thematically returned to their roots for the new LP, recording at Angelic Studios where they made their debut record and looking back at how they began with a DIY spirit.

Instead of writing new music while on the road, Nothing But Thieves instead came up with the new material in unison over a dedicated five-month period – leading to what they describe as their most liberating and cohesive work yet, and music that speaks to the power of community.

The band announced their return last week with the new single ‘Evolution’, which they unveiled on a YouTube livestream and teased with cryptic posters. Fast paced from beginning to end, the song is rich in themes of harmony, nostalgia and hope, and sees them combine soaring vocals and lively guitars.

“It’s a song that’s not too concerned about finality. I think imperfection and authenticity is becoming ever more valuable and it’s definitely something we’re drawn to,” the band explained.

“We’ve spent some time trying to work out what’s real and tangible about who we are and how we use our time. The people we travel the world with, the human moments on stage, the connection we make with those who come to our shows. That’s real… It’s a bit of a love letter to the people in our world in that way.”

To celebrate the new album, Nothing But Thieves will be embarking on their biggest ever headline tour, performing across the UK, Europe and North America. All shows take place in 2027, following the band supporting Biffy Clyro at their outdoor shows in London and Edinburgh this summer, and playing at multiple festivals.

Dates kick off in Paris on January 12, and continue with shows in Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan, Vienna and more throughout the month, before heading to the UK and Ireland in February. Those dates include shows at London’s O2 and Manchester’s Co-Op Live, before North American tour dates take place shortly afterwards.
