The boss of Grand Theft Auto 6’s publisher has confirmed that the long-awaited game is still set to launch this November after a viral 4chan rumour promised another delay.

Grand Theft Auto 6 had been due to release in May 2025 but after two delays, it’s now set to launch November 19, 2026.
Earlier this week, it was reported that pre-order for the game would go live following a leak from US retail giant Best Buy. However, when that didn’t happen, fans expected another delay was imminent.
The next day, an anonymous 4chan post from someone who claimed to be closely connected with game developers Rockstar alleged that Grand Theft Auto 6 was set to be delayed to February 2027 with a PC launch to follow in May 2027. They also claimed the delay would be confirmed last night (May 21) during the latest Take-Two earnings call.

However during the Take-Two earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 would still launch November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
“I think reiterating November 19 as launch day today is probably a positive,” he told investors. “I think we’ve been really clear that we’re releasing the title on November 19.”
He also confirmed that the marketing push would begin this summer, so fans will be waiting “a few weeks” before that starts rolling out.
It’s been reported that Grand Theft Auto 6 will become the most-expensive video game ever made when it finally launches. Zelnick has also predicted that people will bunk off work to play the title on release day.
