Every song on ‘The Christophers’ soundtrack

Steven Soderbergh’s The Christophers is in cinemas now, but what songs feature on the soundtrack? Find out below.

The black comedy film was released in UK cinemas on Friday (May 15), a week after its US release, the latest feature from the acclaimed and prolific Soderbergh – best known for Ocean’s Eleven, Magic Mike, Traffic, Contagion, Erin Brockovich and Sex, Lies And Videotape.

The Christophers stars Ian McKellen as the elderly and eccentric painter Julian Sklar, who is known for his series of paintings called ‘The Christophers’. With his fame fading, his children hire a forger – played by Michaela Coel – to complete the unfinished paintings in the series so that they will have an inheritance when he dies.

The film has been written by Ed Solomon, who previously worked with Soderbergh on No Sudden Move, and is best known for his work on Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Men In Black and Now You See Me.

James Corden and Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning star as the children of McKellen’s character, and it was filmed in Camden and Fitzrovia in early 2025.

The film has been well received by critics, currently sitting on a 95 per cent rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. The site’s consensus reads: “A sly caper carried off with director Steven Soderbergh’s characteristic panache, The Christophers is a superb two-hander featuring Ian McKellen and Michaele Coel at their very best.”

Every song on The Christophers soundtrack

The film includes an original score from the celebrated Northern Irish composer and musician David Holmes, who made his name making trip-hop and big beat records in the 1990s.

Holmes and Soderbergh are long-time collaborators, dating back to 1998’s Out Of Sight. They went on to work on the Ocean’s trilogy together, and more recently have made Logan Lucky, The Laundromat and Black Bag.

Beyond that, there are two songs by the Northern Irish singer-songwriter BEA, who has established a huge following on social media in recent years. The tracks in question are ‘Shine Like That’ and ‘Hold Me Close’, and she announced her involvement in the film by writing: “Guys!!! I’m so thrilled to announce that I’ve worked on two tracks that are featuring in the latest film..Thank you for letting me be apart of it!”
