CrazAngel (DAZE,
SOLMI, SHANNIE, and AHON)

is a four-member global girl group under FORBEST Entertainment that debuted in July
2025. They have released their second mini album, “Picasso”
on May 12, marking a bold evolution from their debut, “I’m Just Me.” Where
their first album was a declaration of self-identity, “Picasso” captures the
ongoing, courageous journey of breaking free from societal molds and
discovering who they truly are.

The title track
‘Picasso’ draws inspiration from Picasso’s Cubism, deconstructing a
single emotion into multiple perspectives before reassembling them through the
four members’ distinct voices — embodying the motto “We steal
Picasso” as a statement of unstoppable, boundary-defying growth.
Musically, it blends dynamic rhythmic shifts, sophisticated sonics, and lush
choral arrangements into a luxurious sound that feels both bright and deeply
calm. The album also includes an English version that global fans can enjoy.

The album’s second highlighted track, ‘Land of Dreams,’ shifts into House-based electronic pop, inviting listeners who have reconnected with their inner selves to shed the weight of reality and return to a long-forgotten dreamworld. It opens with whispered vocals that immediately evoke a mystical, dreamlike atmosphere, then builds gradually through spacious synths and a rhythmic beat that dissolve the line between fantasy and the real world. The track balances pop accessibility with intricate sound design, showcasing CrazAngel’s range — both in vocal charm and in their ability to craft emotionally immersive, multi-layered music.

KpopWise spoke with CrazAngel about the creative process behind “Picasso,” the emotions woven into its lyrics, the group’s evolving artistic identity, and the personal growth they have experienced since debut. From exploring themes of self-discovery to building a sound and story that feels uniquely their own, the members shared the thoughts, experiences, and ambitions shaping this new chapter of their journey.

All
four members participated in writing lyrics for the title track “Picasso.” Was
there a lyric or message that felt especially personal to share?

SHANNIE: For me, it would be the phrase “work of
art” mentioned in the first line of “Picasso.” While brainstorming lyrics, it
was one of the first phrases that came to mind, and I immediately felt that it
had to be included in the song.

DAZE: The lyric “The first attraction
I felt, this trembling that began to bloom”
really resonates with
me. It’s not because there’s a specific reason, but because the line
beautifully expresses the delicate emotions of a new beginning. Maybe it’s that
“first attraction” feeling itself that draws me in.

SOLMI: Since “Picasso” is a song about
discovering myself, I think the lyric “The first attraction I felt, this
trembling that began to bloom”
captures the emotions of adventure
really well.

AHON:“You’re my Picasso.” I think it would be even more fun to
listen to the song if everyone thinks about what “Picasso” means to them
personally.

Was there a
funny or memorable moment during the music video shoot?

DAZE: Rather than funny, there was a
memorable moment. For one of my solo shots, I had to stand on a rotating
platform and keep posing. Since I’m more introverted, my mind completely
blanked out and I couldn’t see or think of anything. I just kept repeating to
myself, “I am SHANNIE, I am SHANNIE,” while posing as hard as I could.
Thankfully, the reactions on set were pretty good. SHANNIE never gets
intimidated in front of the camera and is amazing with expressions and acting.

SOLMI: The car scene I filmed with AHON is the
one I remember most. None of us actually have driver’s licenses, so it felt
exciting pretending AHON was driving us around. It really felt like the two of
us were going on a drive together, so it was such a fun scene to film!

The English version of “Picasso” isn’t just a direct translation, but has its own flavor. What differences in emotion or attitude should fans expect between the Korean and English versions?

SHANNIE: The Korean lyrics of “Picasso” deliver the song’s message in a more metaphorical way. Instead of immediately understanding the artist’s intentions, listeners are encouraged to interpret the song in their own personal way. On the other hand, the English version is a little more direct in expressing our emotions. We also tried to approach the song with different vocal tones and attitudes in each language so fans can experience different sides of us.

This album continues the story that began with “I’m Just Me.” Looking back now, how do you think each member has personally evolved since debut?

DAZE: At debut, we focused more on showing our best and coolest sides. Now, I think we’ve become more honest in expressing our real emotions. I truly feel that we’re growing because each of us is discovering our own unique colors and becoming more “ourselves.”

AHON: DAZE unnie was already such a great leader before, but now she’s become someone we can rely on and trust even more. SOLMI unnie has been showing more and more of her cute side lately, and SHANNIE unnie keeps becoming more and more like a true celebrity as time goes by.

Many rookie groups focus on trends, but CrazAngel seems to emphasize storytelling and artistic identity. How important is it for the group to build a long-term worldview?

AHON: Because we have long-term goals that we want to pursue together, I think it helps us avoid becoming too obsessed with immediate results and instead see things from different perspectives. It also strengthens the unity between the members.

SHANNIE: During “I’m Just Me,” we focused on bringing out our “inner heroic selves,” emphasizing confidence and self-esteem. Meanwhile, “Picasso” portrays how people still question their identities and how there’s no single right answer to who we are or who we should be. Rather than creating a complicated worldview that takes time for fans to understand, our group focuses on approachable themes that everyone can relate to easily.

When you think about growth, what’s something you hope to improve quickly, and something you’re okay with developing more slowly over time?

DAZE:
I really want to improve our stage performances and live skills as quickly as possible so we can show W!NGZ even better performances. But when it comes to experience, that’s not something you can rush. I want to slowly grow by experiencing many different things over time.

SOLMI:
The thing I need to improve quickly is definitely taking action. Even if progress is slow, continuing to move forward little by little is still growth compared to standing still. I think one day, I’ll look back and realize, “Wow, I’ve grown so much without even noticing.” As for everything else, I think it’s okay to develop those more slowly over time.

If CrazAngel’s journey so far were painted as a single artwork, what would the title be right now?

DAZE: Wouldn’t our journey itself be called “Land of Dreams”? We’ve only just taken one more step toward our dreams. Please continue to join CrazAngel on our journey as we search for even more dreams ahead!

AHON: “An Endless Beginning.”

What paint color do you think represents you?

SHANNON: Orange represents me well. Orange gives people positive energy, stands out in public, and is always ready to explore.

DAZE: Maybe an aurora-like light purple? A soft lavender with a subtle glow comes to mind.

SOLMI: I think my color would definitely be a deep matcha green. Since it’s a luxurious color, it matches the image and vibe I pursue.

AHON: I think it’s blue. Blue is the color I represent within CrazAngel, and since I’ve been thinking about CrazAngel a lot lately, I think blue has naturally become my color.

What impression or impact do you hope CrazAngel leaves on fans discovering you for the first time?

SHANNON: Beyond just listening to our music, I hope fans will also look into each member’s personality and the different kinds of charisma we have both on stage and in real life.

DAZE: I hope people feel happiness. Whether it’s small happiness or big happiness, it’s all good. I want people to think, “Ah, CrazAngel truly loves music. They really enjoy performing on stage.” We’ll continue working hard so fans can feel the happiness we express together with us.

Do you have a message for the fans who support you?

AHON: It’s been a while, W!NGZ! Thank you so much for waiting for us and supporting us for such a long time! We’ll repay your love now. Let’s meet often!!

SHANNIE: To our beloved W!NGZ! This is our very first comeback since debut, and I couldn’t be more thrilled and excited to greet you all with what we’ve prepared. Your love and support mean the world to us, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
