Remakes of the original Devil May Cry and the first Resident Evil game are reportedly on the way, according to leakers.

The original Devil May Cry was released in 2001 and introduced gamers to the demon-slaying Dante. A number of sequels followed, including 2019’s Devil May Cry 5, alongside comics, novels and a recent Netflix animated adaptation.
Leaker Stiviwonder (via My Nintendo News) has now claimed a remake of the original Devil May Cry is in “active development” at Capcom.
That’s not the only remake the studio is allegedly working on though. According to leaker Dusk Golem, Capcom had a meeting in the summer of 2022 where they greenlit remakes of Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Shortly afterwards, a number of fan projects using those titles for inspiration were shut down. It’s also claimed Resident Evil 10 is in development, with Resident Evil 2 protagonist Claire Redfield set to return.
Release dates for these games are unknown and Capcom has yet to officially confirm any of them are actually in production.

The studio has had a strong start to 2026 though. Resident Evil Requiem became the fastest-selling entry in the long-running survival horror franchise when it launched in February and Capcom’s new IP Pragmata has sold more than 2million copies in under a month.
Combat-focused minigame Leon Must Die launched for Resident Evil Requiem last week, and a story expansion is due later this year. Capcom USA’s Chief Operating Officer Rob Dyer has also hinted a sequel to Pragmata could be on the cards. “We’re to a point now where we’ve got another IP that Capcom – and god bless them, has an arsenal – can continue to go down,” he said at a conference recently (via Game File).
In other news, Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe pre-orders for the upcoming sequel will finally go live this week, alongside the third trailer.
