Mick Jagger has revealed that he’s been a fan of Zara Larsson since 2018.

The Rolling Stones icon appeared on the Today show earlier this week, where he was asked which contemporary artist he’s listening to these days.

“My son said to me, ‘Oh, Zara Larsson is having a big comeback.’ I said, ‘But she never went away for me.’” He added that he’s been a fan of the Swedish singer since her 2018 hit ‘Ruin My Life’. “When I’m in that mood, that’s what I like,” he added.

Larsson was on the same show on Friday (May 8), where the hosts played the clip to her. “I can’t believe it,” she said after watching. “It’s so beautiful to just see how everyone’s coming on this journey.”

Larsson released her fifth studio record last summer, including the singles ‘Pretty Ugly’, ‘Midnight Sun’ and ‘Crush’. Earlier this month, she followed it up with the remix album ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip’, which features PinkPantheressShakiraTylaRobynMadison BeerKehlani, Bambii and more.

NME gave the record 4.5 stars in a review that read: “Coupled with the undimmed effervescence of the original album, ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip’ is a journey worth taking. And for Larsson, the doors to the “Khia asylum” are rapidly fading from sight in the rear-view mirror.

Elsewhere, Larsson will be playing at a number of festivals this summer, including Mad CoolRadio 1’s Big WeekendLollapaloozaMontreux JazzSzigetPinkpopOpen’erAll Points East and Parklife.

She was also one of the big names to join PinkPantheress at Coachella this month, and she recently featured on Tyla’s new single ‘She Did It Again’.

As for Jagger, The Rolling Stones officially announced their upcoming album ‘Foreign Tongues’ earlier this month, confirming that it would feature guest appearances from Paul McCartneyRobert SmithSteve Winwood and the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts.

It’s also been revealed that the record will include a cover of an Amy Winehouse classic.
