The annual star-studded fashion fundraiser went down in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4, with this year’s theme being “Costume Art”.

On the night, Carpenter kicked off the night by performing live – breaking out ‘House Tour’, ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please, Please, Please’ with a five-piece orchestra, before welcoming Stevie Nicks to the stage.

There, the two of them did a surprise duet of the 1975 Fleetwood Mac classic ‘Landslide’ together, and Nicks invited Carpenter back on stage later in the night for a rendition of ‘Don’t Stop’.

The slot came just days after Carpenter headlined the 2026 edition of Coachella, and was joined by Madonna during the second weekend of the festival, where they debuted their new track ‘Bring Your Love’, which is set to be included on Madonna’s upcoming ‘Confessions II’ album, out on July 3.

Now, Carpenter has looked back at the Met Gala collab, and shared a carousel post on Instagram sharing what it meant to her.

In the post, the singer shared off two outfits she wore after completing the red carpet and going inside the event. One was a Versace dress that donned the Andy Warhol pop art prints of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean, and the other was a gold Bob Mackie dress that she wore to perform with Nicks.

“Thank you Anna [Wintour], @voguemagazine and @metmuseum for having me perform and giving me a beautiful new friend @stevienicks,” she wrote in the caption. “Singing together healed many things in me!”

NME last caught Carpenter live when she headlined BST Hyde Park in London last summer. The glowing five-star review read: “[‘Espresso’ has] catapulted the singer from an artist orbiting the pop girl league tables to one of its reigning champs, but her command of this space is a testament to the years of graft it took to get there. All she needed was time.”

As well as bringing out Madonna at Coachella 2026 weekend two, Sabrina’s first weekend headline set saw her revive the spirit of classic Hollywood, with Susan Sarandon, Sam Elliott, Samuel L. Jackson and Will Ferrell all joining her as surprise guests.
