CORTIS Returns with 2nd Mini Album “GREENGREEN”

Rookie group CORTIS  is making a bold statement with the release of their second mini album, “GREENGREEN,” on May 4.. The group, which debuted just eight months ago in August 2024, has already demonstrated remarkable momentum heading into this release. Their pre-release title track ‘REDRED’ broke into Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart at #184 within days of its April 20 release, and pre-orders for the album surpassed two million copies in roughly two weeks — a striking milestone for a group still in its early chapters.

“GREENGREEN” is a deeply personal project that reflects where CORTIS stands right now, in the spring of 2026. Rather than chasing a broad sound, the five members leaned into a process of elimination — identifying what they didn’t want in order to arrive at what felt most authentically theirs.

The result is six tracks that resist easy genre classification, built from unconventional instrument arrangements and layered rhythms designed to create what the group describes as a “new texture.” The album’s visual identity follows the same philosophy, stripping back heavy styling in favor of raw, unfiltered looks shot at locations meaningful to the group, including streets they walked during their trainee days and the LA studio where songwriting sessions took place.

All five members contributed to songwriting and production across the album, and are also credited as co-directors of the music video and co-choreographers of the performances. The six tracks pull from real life — ‘ACAI’ was inspired by the açaí bowls they ate daily during sessions in the US, while ‘YOUNGCREATORCREW’ humorously unpacks the contradictory feeling of owning a label while not wanting to be reduced to it. ‘Blue Lips’, which grew from an old self-written demo by Martin, explores the painful irony of being most hurt by the things you love most.

The title track ‘REDRED’ anchors the album with its infectious energy and distinctly CORTIS personality. Built on a raw synthesizer and a punchy, repetitive rhythm, the song uses the contrast of red and green as a metaphor for what the group avoids versus what they pursue.

The accompanying music video, set in everyday Korean spots like a BBQ restaurant and an arcade, leans into an effortless, street-level aesthetic. With choreography the members created themselves — easy to follow yet distinctly cool — ‘REDRED’ has already taken off on short-form platforms, further proving that CORTIS is a group building something genuinely their own.

Additionally, the music video for ‘TNT’ was released along with the album.  The chaotic scenes follows CORTIS being chased, inspired by real events.
