The movie, which is released in cinemas on June 26, sees the return of Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Chris Pontius, as they take their stunts to crazy new heights.

In the trailer, we see a robot giving a rectal exam with its hand caked in peanut butter to Steve-O, an electric shock collar put on someone’s penis resulting in them hitting a metal pole and an escape room featuring an electric chair.

“Welcome to the first day of our last film,” says Knoxville before he says he’s feeling “sad” about Jackass‘ impending end. When Pontius is asked the same thing he replies: “No I’m not in touch with my emotions.”

The franchise began as a TV show on MTV back in 2000, with Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera and more pushing themselves to the limits by voluntarily taking part in dangerous and shocking stunts.

It has since made itself onto the big screen, and since 2002 there have been four films – including the most recent Jackass Forever, which was released in 2022.

Knoxville took to social media in January to reveal that another film was on the way, and that it was set to arrive in cinemas later this summer.

“Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang,” he wrote in the caption. “We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!!”

Knoxville later said that the latest instalment “will be the last one”.

“This is the natural place to end,” he told Rolling Stone. “So it’s going to be absolutely awful.”

The new film will be released via Paramount Pictures. The last movie saw fan favourite Steve-O take part, as well as newer faces including Eric Manaka, Zach Holmes, Rachel Wolfson, and Sean “Poopies” McInerney.

The news of the last film also arrived after Knoxville said in 2022 that he was planning on retiring from “big stunts” after suffering a brain haemorrhage while filming the last Jackass film. He sustained multiple severe injuries after being kicked in the air by a bull for the movie.

In a four-star review of Jackass Forever, NME described it as “pure, prank-filled fun (plus a lot of testicles),” adding: “There’s a kindness and companionship – and freedom – to Jackass Forever that makes for 90 minutes of pure joy. Remember joy?”
