Jung Festival: London’s First Korean Food Festival Arriving May Bank Holiday Weekend

The streets of Seoul aren’t just filled with culture and rich history but also delicious foods. From the smells and sounds from pocha tents to the endless street food in Sejong, bustling food markets like Gwangjang Market (although Namdaemun Market is a great alternative – and much quieter!) and, of course, the endless choices of seafood found in Busan.

South Korea is a real dream for foodies. For anyone craving those smells and flavours again, or for those wishing to go one day – the Jung Festival has you covered. Taking place across the May Bank Holiday at Canopy Market, this will be London’s first Korean food festival, bringing in over 20 food trader stalls.

Korean cuisine has been steadily making its mark across London. One foodie has had a hand in bringing the market to life and has had a helping hand in many of us discovering hidden gems across the city. TikTok/Instagram’s Rollin Lee is someone that has caused many of us to bookmark the never-ending places we have to explore. Teaming up with Market Root, they are bringing the best of the best for visitors to taste.

All inspired by the concept of ‘Jeong’ (community and connection), the festival is the perfect place to gather and indulge. Be ready for authentic tastings from vendors Kiwa to ONMA, who will be serving freshly rolled gimbap and crispy fried dumplings. The classics such as kimchi and Korean fried chicken will also be available.

There won’t just be food on offer, as the Culture Hub (문화지구) will give visitors an immersive experience for those looking to fully discover more of Korean traditions. Right next to the market, make your way over to play traditional games, take part in a minhwa (Korean folk painting) workshop, and even try on Hanbok with support from the Korean Cultural Centre UK.

What better way to spend a day than eating tasty, soul-warming food and being able to partake in Korean traditions?
