ifeye has returned with their 3rd mini album, “As if” on April 15.
“What if our imagination became reality?” Through their third EP, “As if”, ifeye unveils a world of boundless imagination. Born from the simple premise of “what if,” this album centers on themes drawn from questions that everyone has pondered in their hearts at least once—from the fluttering sensations of a love kept secret, to fleeting emotions that pass in an instant, and even the alternate narratives that might have unfolded had a different choice been made.
ifeye gracefully weaves these fragmented emotions—which previously existed only within the realm of imagination—into a rich tapestry of sophisticated and vibrant sounds, bringing them forth into the reality that surrounds us. Within the myriad branching narratives born of imagination, a new world emerges—one imbued with ifeye’s own distinct colors. These boundless moments of imagination now begin under the title “As if.”
The title track, ‘Hazy (Daisy)’ is a pop track features an exquisite interplay between energetic Drum & Bass rhythms and a gently blossoming, easy-listening sensibility. It draws a metaphor between the fluttering excitement of falling in love—likened to a “Hazy” state—and the sincere emotions that, though shy, rise confidently to the surface within it—likened to the flower “Daisy.” The sweet vocal lines, standing in contrast to the swirling beats, dramatically portray the inception of a love that finally blooms after moments of hesitation, thereby most vividly imprinting If I’s signature identity—one that is both sophisticated and dreamlike.
Aside from the title track ‘Hazy (Daisy),’ the album includes R&B track ‘I’ll Be There,’ pop-based ‘Padam Padam,’ ballad ‘Touch,’ and fan song ‘Forever Us,’ organically blending diverse genres to reflect a more mature sensibility.
