In February, The Pokémon Company announced a series of events would be taking place in 2026 to celebrate 30 years of Pokémon. “Day Out events will feature family-friendly activities and programming, and Night Out events will have fun surprises in store for longtime fans who grew up with Pokémon,” they explained.
Now, it’s been confirmed DJ superstar Marshmello will be headlining a pair of Night Out gigs in London and LA.
“The worlds of Pokémon and electronic dance music (EDM) collide in a once-in-a-lifetime experience designed for fans who grew up loving Pokémon. The Pokémon Night Out celebration is the first of its kind: an unforgettable concert with performances by top EDM artists Marshmello and Alison Wonderland, along with a dazzling show filled with cutting-edge technology and animation,” reads a press release.
The Pokémon Night Out gigs will take place:
OCTOBER
24 – Intuit Dome, California
NOVEMBER
10 – O2 Arena, London
Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday (April 17) at 10am local time.
“I grew up with Pokémon and it’s just such an honour [to be asked to do this,” said Marshmello, who’s planning “a very special, very curated set” for the gigs. “For this show, it’s been really fun to work off of all the visual moments we have planned,” he added.
He went on to say his favourite Pokémon was Mewtwo. “Growing up, Pikachu and Charizard were more bubbly and light-hearted and I just remember Mewtwo being a little more ominous.”

“I’m gonna have special Pokémon visuals and song edits just for these shows. As you know I’m a huge Pokémon fan so I am FREAKING OUT. Dreams come true,” said Alison Wonderland on Instagram.
The Pokémon Company has also confirmed four “family-focused” and “immersive” Day Out celebrations will be held in France, the United States, Germany and Mexico this summer, with further details to be shared soon.
To officially launch the 30th anniversary Pokémon celebrations, Lady Gaga, BLACKPINK’s JISOO, Trevor Noah, F1 driver Charles Leclerc, Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko, Spanish soccer star Lamine Yamal and actor Maitreyi Ramakrishnan teamed up for a special ‘What’s Your Favourite’ advert.
So far this year, two new Pokémon games have been released (cutesy life sim Pokopia and battle title Champions), a pop-up has taken over London’s Natural History Museum and collaborations have been released with Lego, Puma and Grind Coffee.
In other news, a clip of Doja Cat refusing to play Roblox on her Twitch stream has gone viral. “You want to know who really loves Roblox? Little kids. I don’t do that, I’m a grown ass woman.”
