Actor and comedian Sudeikis co-founded the annual event with drummer Billy Brimblecom in 2017. The latter lost his left leg to a rare form of cancer in 2005, as Spin notes.

Flavor Flav was joined on the line-up by Sudeikis himself, “Weird Al” Yankovic and more at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to Setlist.FM, the Public Enemy co-founder played two of the hip-hop group’s classic tracks on the night: ‘Bring The Noise’ (1987) and ‘911 Is A Joke’ (1990).

For the first song, Flavor Flav invited Sudeikis to perform alongside him and his live band. He has since shared fan-shot footage of the collaboration, writing: “FLAVOR FLAV::: TURN IT UP, cuz we BROUGHT THE NOISE!!!

“WOOWWW, Jason Sudeikis got down like that and was absolutely incredible!! #ThunderGong can Bring the Noise.”

Steps Of Faith has also posted a professionally shot video of the team-up on YouTube. Check out the clips here:

Sudeikis’ own set at Thundergong! 2024 saw him cover Billie Eilish‘s ‘Happier Than Ever’ alongside his children, before delivering renditions of Wings‘ ‘Live And Let Die’, Van Morrison‘s ‘Crazy Love’ and The Beatles‘ ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’.

TMZ has reported that this year’s edition of Thundergong! raised over $820,000 (£640,000) for Steps Of Faith.

Elsewhere, Flavor Flav gave a performance of Backstreet Boys‘ 1999 hit single ‘I Want It That Way’ as part of the fundraiser.

Following their joint live performance, Flavor Flav and Sudeikis attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos last Sunday (November 10). Taylor Swift, who is currently dating the Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, was also at the event. Watch the footage above.

In other news, Flavor Flav reportedly submitted his bid to become a torchbearer at the 2028 Olympic Games over the summer.

Meanwhile, it was reported in August that Ted Lasso was gearing up for a fourth season on Apple TV+. The third and latest run of episodes concluded in May 2023.
