The comedian and actor was involved in a lawsuit in 2022, when a 22-year-old woman alleged that Haddish and fellow comedian Aries Spears had forced her and her younger brother to carry out inappropriate acts on camera as children.

The woman who accused Haddish asked the judge to dismiss the case shortly after filing, saying (via The Independent): “We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us.”

However, Haddish was already reportedly suffering the consequences of the lawsuit, saying that she had “lost everything”.

Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Haddish revealed the lengths she went to in an attempt to manage the onslaught of abuse she subsequently received online, including blocking certain words and phrases from her Instagram, including the word “pedo”.

The actor also confessed to having made a fake Instagram account which she would use to deter people from making negative comments towards her, by threatening to reveal personal details.

“I’ve learned how to find people’s information – like I pull up the credit report, police records. You can do that for $1.99,” shared Haddish. “Sometimes, I get so mad that I’ll get they phone number and I’ll just call them.

“They’ll be shocked that I called. They’ll be like, ‘I can’t believe you even saw that.’ You did a whole video, bitch! You made a full, five-minute video!” she continued.

The Girls Trip star added: “On the internet, people think they can just say whatever and you not gonna say anything. I try my best not to, but I’m a human being.”

Last year, Haddish was arrested and charged with a DUI after allegedly being found asleep at the wheel.
