Details of the show were shared today (April 29), and reveal that the rock trip will bring their electrifying live show to the historic venue in Halifax on August 23.

The live performance at the open-air courtyard comes as the final announcement for the 2024 edition of TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall.

Comprising 34 headline shows, the summer event will kick off on Friday, June 7 with an opening night from ‘80s legends Blondie. Other headliners lined up for this year’s instalment include Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Richard Ashcroft, Korn, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Sheryl Crow, Fatboy Slim, PJ Harvey, Pixies, IDLES and Underworld.

“What an amazing band for our final announcement for this summer,” said Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust, of the announcement. “Biffy Clyro compliment the rest of our line-up perfectly for what is our biggest, best and most diverse summer music season. Tickets are going to fly out for this so fans really need to be fast!”

Biffy Clyro will be joined at The Piece Hall by special guests Witch Fever, and tickets for the gig go on sale at 10am BST this Friday (May 3) – visit here to buy yours.

With three UK Number One albums under their belts and countless tours behind them, Biffy Clyro have become renowned as one of the country’s most successful rock bands of all time. In the time since their 2002 debut album ‘Blackened Sky’, the group have gone on to win four NME Awards and three nominations for Best British Group at the BRITS.

As for the 2024 edition of the Piece Hall shows, this time around marks the first time that TK Maxx has joined Cuffe and Taylor as presenting partners for the gigs, underscoring the brand’s support of the arts and local communities.

In other Biffy Clyro news, last month it was confirmed that the group would be embarking on a string of shows in London and Glasgow later this year, dubbed ‘A Celebration Of Beginnings’ and featuring performances of their first three albums in full.

“That twisted take on everything has always been so us – even down to our band name,” frontman Simon Neil told NME in 2020, reflecting on the relationship the members have to their early releases. “If you’d have told anyone from that era that we’d be the ones to stick around for 20 years, then they probably would have laughed in your face.”

“If you’d told anyone that we’d stick around for 20 years, they would have laughed.

The band’s last release was 2021’s acclaimed ‘The Myth Of The Happily Ever After‘, the follow-up and sister album of 2020’s ‘A Celebration Of Endings’. In the years since, Neil has been busy with long-mooted grindcore side-project Empire State Bastard with Oceansize‘s Mike Vennart, Slayer‘s Dave Lombardo and Bitch Falcon‘s Naomi Macleod. The group released their debut album ‘Rivers Of Heresy’ last year.

As well as the Piece Hall gig and the ‘Celebration Of Beginnings’ shows, Biffy Clyro will also be headlining Victorious Festival in Portsmouth in August. Visit here for remaining tickets to all upcoming dates.
