BBGIRLS (former Brave Girls) recently announced that the members have established their own company, BBGIRLS Company, to continue their activities as a group. The four-member lineup, however, will be undergoing a change as Yujeong has decided to leave the group.

Yujeong took to her social media on April 22, KST, to share her sentiments with fans. In a lengthy Instagram caption, the idol informed fans that her contract with Warner Music Korea expired in April, and moving forward, she plans to be active under her legal name, Nam Yujeong. She thanked fans for their support and apologized for her shortcomings.

After much deliberation, I’m posting this message…!
As of April, my contract with Warner Music Korea has ended, and I’ll be active not as BBGIRLS but as Nam Yujeong (Yujeong).
I want to express my gratitude and apologies to those who have always believed in me and worried about me, including FEARLESS and Bbees.

The idol also mentioned that while her departure might have come as sudden news, she had been contemplating this move for a while. She also reflected on her past anxieties, concluding that she is ready to leave it all behind for a new chapter of her life.
We had many promises together.
Although I can’t share everything, I’ve decided to put an end to something I’ve been contemplating for a long time, albeit suddenly.
Since the beginning, I’ve been afraid and worried a lot, afraid of causing harm to someone.
And at the same time, afraid of doing something alone.
But from today onwards, I’ll leave my beloved past here, and focus on the next step that I must cherish and love.

Though Yujeong didn’t offer any explanation for her decision, she closed her statement with warm wishes for her former group mates and an assurance that she would stick around for fans.
