The 66th annual Grammy Awards were a star-studded event with celebrities from every genre in attendance, including Beyoncé. Despite not being nominated for any categories, Beyoncé was the center of attention as numerous artists lined up to take pictures with her. Among them was Ice Spice, who shared a brief moment with JAY-Z and Blue Ivy Carter.
In a recent episode of “The Shop” with LeBron James, Ice Spice recalled meeting Beyoncé at the Grammys. She described it as a Beyoncé meet-and-greet, where everyone got a few seconds with the music icon. Ice Spice also mentioned that she had seen Beyoncé at her table and exchanged smiles before their encounter.
Ice Spice was vying for several Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, Best Song Written For Visual Media, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Although she didn’t win, she left with an unforgettable experience, tweeting, “Just met Beyoncé, I’m never goin’ to fail.”
During an interview with E! News, SZA revealed why she was hesitant to approach Beyoncé that night. She admitted to being scared to go over to Beyoncé, stating, “I can’t speak unless she wants to speak, in my brain, because I don’t want to bother her. She looked so peaceful and beautiful.”
Rihanna, who was also in attendance, expressed her admiration for her children’s lives and revealed that if given the chance, she would swap places with her sons, RZA and Riot Rose, for a day. The singer shared her thoughts with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, stating, “They have it the best. They’re living the greatest life. The love that they have from everyone, they know they’re loved. I beam to see it in their eyes, knowing that everybody in this house is at your beck and call.”
Nicki Minaj, who was not present at the Grammys, recently canceled a show on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour due to illness. She took to Twitter to apologize to her fans, promising to reschedule the show and give them 100% of herself when she returns.
