YoungBoy Never Broke Again Faces Fraud, Weapons, and Drug Charges in Utah

YoungBoy Never Broke Again, also known as Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, was arrested in Utah on Tuesday, facing multiple felony charges including possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and a pattern of unlawful activity, both classified as Class 2 felonies. Additionally, he was accused of procuring prescription drugs, identity fraud, forgery, and possession of controlled substances.

The 24-year-old rapper has been under house arrest in Utah since 2021, awaiting trial on a separate federal indictment related to a 2020 incident where he and others were arrested for alleged drug and weapon possession during a music video shoot. Despite legal challenges, a federal judge modified his home confinement conditions in December 2023 to allow access to mental health treatment, although his request for increased studio time was denied.

YoungBoy’s lawyer highlighted the negative impact of confinement on the rapper’s mental health, citing anxiety, depression, weight loss, and sleep disturbances. Despite these challenges, YoungBoy has continued to release music, dropping singles like “Boat,” “We shot him in his head huh,” “No Time,” and “Steppa” in 2024. In 2023, he released four projects, including “Decided 2,” “Richest Opp,” “Don’t Try This At Home,” and “I Rest My Case,” with “Decided 2” featuring a collaboration with Rod Wave.
