Back in 2021, AQUINAS was praised after he honestly came out as bisexual.

On April 9 (KST), AQUINAS shared a photo of a rainbow flag with the caption, “I’m actually gay, not bisexual.”

When the post was shared, the comments were full of netizens sharing their support and positivity amid his announcement. Although Korean society can be traditional when it comes to topics of sexuality, international fans made sure that AQUINAS felt like he had support.

On Reddit, he also received support. While some fans pointed out that the topic of sexuality is still not embraced in Korea, citing examples of this with AQUINAS, others were glad he could be open with fans.

While sexuality is still taboo in many parts of Korea, more idols and celebrities coming out will benefit the LGBTQIA+ community in the country as fewer people live in fear of being themselves.
