On April 5, it was reported that Ryu Jun Yeol‘s agency, C-JeS Studios, had purchased Hyeri‘s agency, Creative Group ING. Notably, Hyeri is the only artist under Creative Group ING. According to the report, C-JeS Studios purchased Creative Group ING for ₩1.30 billion KRW (about $963,000 USD).

Although the news might initially alarm fans, netizens preached calm and reminded fans that both agencies had previously been under the stewardship of the same owner, and that the purchase was more of a merger than a take over.

“I was going to freak out, but the report explains that (Hyeri’s) company had been like a subsidiary and that they are now simply merging.” “Wow, C-JeS has gotten much bigger. In the beginning, the agency only had JYJ, but now they have a lot of actors.” “The two agencies have always had the same owner, lol.”

“I think they are merging because Hyeri is leaving the company.” “I think it has always been a subsidiary, no? When Song Ji Hyo left C-JeS, she went to (Hyeri’s) label.”

Meanwhile, Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol had been at the center of one of Korea’s most messy controversies. It will be interesting to see how the merger affects both artists.
